Behind the Scenes
There is so much that went into the creation of Quigley's Village. The creative team went to work to create original music, puppets, sets, costumes, and so much more. The puppets were made by puppet makers with extensive experience in broadcast puppetry working on Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock. The production crew were all top professionals with years of experience. They had a tough audience to please so they had to do their best! But they knew all their work paid off when their audience of preschool kids watched the tapes again and again-literally hundreds of times.
Here is your chance to check out all the hard work that went into creating Quigley's Village. View The Making of Quigley's Village Video, the original concept sketches, and some behind the scenes photos. But regardless of what you check out, prepare to be amazed!

In the video, Rick Carlson who plays Mr. Quigley, talks about the idea of a village with puppet animals that kids would like and relate to. He sketched out some of the characters on his plane trip from our original meeting. Below are the original sketches that led to the development of the Quigley’s Village characters. Can you name the characters that came from these original sketches?

The Quigley team really wanted kids to understand the words and the concepts. We had early childhood educators and child psychologists review all the scripts to make sure that we were communicating well to 3-6 year olds. Then we gave the scripts to “Moms” who had preschoolers for insight from those that live with 3-6 years 24 hours a day.
